Shipping/Forklift Driver 1st Shift

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to move raw materials, finished products, pallets, and other materials throughout the facility.
• Load and unload trailers and delivery trucks safely and efficiently.
• Prepare finished products for shipment according to customer and company requirements.
• Verify product quantities, labels, and shipping paperwork for accuracy.
• Stage completed orders in the appropriate shipping areas.
• Inspect pallets, loads, and products before shipment to help prevent damage or shipping errors.
• Secure and organize materials and finished products for safe transportation.
• Receive incoming materials and place them in designated storage locations.
• Maintain accurate inventory and shipping records as required.
• Communicate with production and shipping personnel regarding order status and material needs.
• Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Keep the shipping area, warehouse, and equipment clean and organized.
• Follow all company safety policies, forklift procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Assist with general warehouse and production duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous forklift experience required or strongly preferred.
• Current forklift certification is a plus.
• Previous shipping, warehouse, manufacturing, or material-handling experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow shipping instructions and paperwork.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift in a busy manufacturing environment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and company policies.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and lift.
• Ability to lift and move materials and finished products as required.
• Ability to safely enter and exit trailers and navigate warehouse areas.
• Ability to work around forklifts, production equipment, and normal manufacturing noise.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
