Senior Software Engineer

About the Role
A Senior Software Engineer position is available within a collaborative project team supporting the ongoing enhancement and modernisation of a core enterprise application environment.

The team is currently undertaking a significant program of work focused on redeveloping end of life Oracle Forms and Reports, enhancing business processes, and delivering integration initiatives across multiple enterprise systems.

The broader environment includes exposure to enterprise scale applications, software development projects, Agile delivery practices, and collaboration with Business Analysts, Testers, Developers, and key business stakeholders.

You will operate as a hands on contributor, responsible for designing, developing and enhancing solutions within a business critical application environment while working closely with the broader project team to deliver ongoing improvements and integration outcomes.

This role will suit someone who enjoys operating within a collaborative Agile environment while remaining heavily involved in hands on development, problem solving, and enterprise systems delivery.

This is initially a six month fixed term contract with a very strong likelihood of extension. There is already a substantial pipeline of additional work planned within the same product area, making longer term opportunities highly likely for strong performers.

You Should Have
• Around six or more years of total commercial software development experience
• Strong Oracle PL/SQL development experience
• Experience working within Agile software development environments
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Business Analysts, Testers and Developers
• Strong problem solving and analytical capability
• Experience working across enterprise software applications and business critical systems

Technical Requirements
Must Have
• Oracle PL/SQL experience (ideally 4+ years)
• Microsoft SSRS experience (ideally 4+ years)
• HTML experience
• CSS experience
• JSON experience
• Experience working within Agile or Scrum software development teams

Nice to Have
• REST API development experience
• JavaScript experience
• C# experience
• .NET experience
• Integration development experience

Key Responsibilities
• Redevelop end of life Oracle Forms and Reports
• Deliver enhancements across a core enterprise application environment
• Develop and maintain Oracle PL/SQL solutions
• Support integration initiatives between enterprise systems
• Work closely with Business Analysts to refine and deliver requirements
• Collaborate with Testers throughout delivery and testing activities
• Participate in Agile delivery practices and project activities
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of business critical enterprise systems

Working Arrangements
• Hybrid working model
• Two days per week in the office
• Typically Tuesday and Wednesday onsite
• Flexible working arrangements available depending on project requirements
Salary
Role paying up to $133k plus superannuation.
