Funeral Services Manager

MAYDAY Recruitment is proud to partner with a well-established and highly respected funeral services provider seeking a compassionate and commercially minded Location Manager to lead two community-focused funeral homes across Wynnum and Cleveland.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead two close-knit locations, combining operational leadership, commercial accountability and strong community engagement. You'll play a key role in supporting your teams, building local relationships and ensuring families receive exceptional care during life's most difficult moments.

About the Role

As the Location Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of two funeral homes located in Wynnum and Cleveland. Leading a small team across both sites, you'll be responsible for driving operational excellence, developing your people and ensuring each location delivers an exceptional customer experience.

This is a hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same. While your focus will be on leading the business, you'll also be willing to roll up your sleeves and support the team operationally when required.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, coaching and developing teams across both Wynnum and Cleveland.

• Managing the operational and commercial performance of both locations.

• Monitoring financial performance, including P&L management and achieving business objectives.

• Building strong relationships with local community groups, aged care providers, RSLs, healthcare professionals and referral partners.

• Driving local marketing and community engagement initiatives to strengthen each location's presence.

• Ensuring exceptional customer service and consistently high standards of care.

• Managing resources effectively across both sites while fostering a positive, collaborative culture.

About You

We welcome applications from leaders within retail, hospitality, healthcare, aged care, funeral services or other customer-focused industries. Funeral industry experience is advantageous but not essential—we're looking for someone with strong leadership capability, commercial acumen and a genuine passion for supporting local communities.

You will bring:

• Proven experience managing multiple sites or leading large operational teams.

• Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing budgets and interpreting P&L reports.

• Demonstrated ability to coach, develop and lead high-performing teams.

• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities across multiple locations.

• A collaborative leadership style with the confidence to make decisions and solve problems.

• Experience building strong relationships within local communities and developing business partnerships.

• A current unrestricted driver's licence.
