Design & Build is proud to be partnering with a leading Australian electrical contractor to recruit an experienced Electrical Project Manager.
Our client is recognised for delivering complex electrical projects across critical infrastructure sectors, including data centres, healthcare, defence, utilities and major commercial developments. With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued growth across Victoria, they are seeking a Project Manager who thrives in technically challenging environments and is passionate about delivering high-quality outcomes.
 
The Opportunity
As an Electrical Project Manager, you will take full ownership of projects from award through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal delivery teams, you will play a key role in managing the commercial, technical and operational aspects of major electrical projects.
This position offers the opportunity to work on some of Melbourne's most technically complex and high-profile critical infrastructure developments.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Manage the successful delivery of electrical projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
• Lead project planning, procurement, programming and resource allocation.
• Manage project budgets, cost reporting, forecasting and commercial performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Identify and manage project risks while implementing effective mitigation strategies.
• Oversee contract administration, variations, progress claims and project reporting.
• Ensure projects comply with Australian Standards, contractual obligations and quality requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.
• Mentor and support Project Engineers, Site Supervisors and emerging project delivery staff.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• A trade qualification or tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager delivering complex building services or critical infrastructure projects.
• Experience delivering projects within one or more of the following sectors:
  • Data Centres
  • Healthcare
  • Defence
  • Utilities
  • Commercial High-Rise
  • Mission Critical Facilities
• Strong knowledge of:
  • HV/LV electrical systems
  • Power distribution
  • UPS systems
  • Standby generators
  • Emergency power systems
  • Electrical infrastructure and commissioning
• Excellent commercial acumen with experience managing project financials.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.
