Rural Property Solicitor - Agricultural Law

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Rural Property Solicitor with 4+ years' PQE to join a highly regarded, top-tier legal practice in Edinburgh.

This is an exciting opportunity for a solicitor with a genuine interest in rural property and agricultural law to join an established specialist team advising a diverse client base across Scotland.

The role would suit an ambitious solicitor who enjoys working on complex rural property matters and is keen to develop their expertise across the broader agricultural and rural legal sector.
 
The Role
 
You will advise private clients, landowners, farmers, estates, rural businesses, investors and other stakeholders on a broad range of rural property and agricultural matters.

Your work is likely to include:

• Rural property acquisitions and disposals
• Sales and purchases of farms, estates, land and rural properties
• Agricultural and rural leasing
• Agricultural tenancies and landlord and tenant matters
• Estate and land management
• Property development and diversification of rural land
• Servitudes, access rights and title issues
• Agricultural holdings and related property matters
• Renewable energy and infrastructure projects affecting rural land
• Forestry and woodland transactions
• Sporting rights and other rural interests
• Succession and restructuring of rural businesses and landholdings
• Rural property aspects of estate planning and wider private client matters

You will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners and specialists across the wider firm, providing clients with a genuinely integrated service.
 
About You
 
We are looking for a Scottish-qualified Solicitor with 4+ years' PQE who has experience in rural property and a genuine interest in developing their career within the agricultural and rural legal sector.
 
You will ideally have:

• Strong experience in Scottish rural property law
• Experience dealing with acquisitions, disposals and/or leasing of rural property
• An interest in agricultural law and the wider rural economy
• Excellent technical and drafting skills
• Strong commercial awareness
• The ability to manage your own caseload and work effectively to deadlines
• Excellent client management and communication skills
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work across different legal disciplines
• The ambition to develop long-term relationships with rural and agricultural clients

Experience of agricultural holdings, rural estates, renewable energy, forestry, sporting rights or rural diversification would be particularly advantageous.
