Beaumont Legal Recruitment is working with a leading independent Scottish law firm to recruit a Senior Solicitor, Associate or Senior Associate for its highly regarded Employment, Immigration and Pensions team in Glasgow.
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Scotland’s largest and most experienced employment practices. The team advises clients throughout the UK and internationally, handling complex employment litigation alongside strategic advisory and non-contentious work. Its client base ranges from established commercial organisations and public-sector bodies to growing and owner-managed businesses.

The role
Depending on your experience, you will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of employment matters and act as a trusted adviser to clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering strategic and commercially focused advice on complex employment and workplace issues
- Leading Employment Tribunal litigation and developing case strategy
- Drafting pleadings and managing correspondence with tribunals, clients and opposing representatives
- Assessing litigation risk and advising clients on resolution and settlement strategy
- Taking witness instructions and drafting or reviewing witness statements
- Conducting and directing legal research on complex and emerging employment-law issues
- Undertaking advocacy at preliminary and substantive Employment Tribunal hearings
- Developing experience before the Employment Appeal Tribunal
- Drafting bespoke contracts of employment, handbooks, policies and procedures
- Advising on TUPE matters and supporting corporate transactions with appropriate warranties and indemnities
- Preparing and delivering client training sessions and workshops
- Contributing to business development, networking and thought-leadership initiatives
- Supporting the development of more junior colleagues where appropriate
You will be a qualified solicitor with at least two years’ PQE and a strong commitment to developing your career in employment law.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Sound technical employment-law knowledge
- Experience managing or supporting Employment Tribunal litigation
- Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills
- Good advocacy skills or a clear interest in developing them
- Commercial awareness and a practical approach to resolving client issues
- Excellent client-care and relationship-management skills
- The ability to manage a varied workload independently and collaboratively
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive approach to business development
