About the role
We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Specialist to join a busy team. You'll help deliver emergency care to approximately 90,000 patients annually (around 220-250 per day), serving Hamilton, the wider Waikato District, and acting as a key tertiary centre for the region. The hospital provides access to all major subspecialties including Plastics, Psychiatry, Cardiothoracic, and Neurosurgery across a large 600‑bed campus.
In this senior role, you will guide and mentor 6-12 junior doctors per shift (approximately 35 across the department), provide on‑floor education, and contribute to the formal teaching programme. You'll work alongside 32 dedicated Emergency Physicians who value collaboration, continuous learning, and clinical excellence.
