We are partnering with a major technology organisation supporting critical national capability projects and are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Support Engineer to join a high-performing team working across secure enterprise environments.

This is not a “keep the lights on” support role. You’ll be involved in the sustainment, optimisation and evolution of a bespoke platform environment supporting mission-critical operations. The team is looking for someone who enjoys deep technical troubleshooting, infrastructure lifecycle activities, automation, and working across complex integrated systems.

What You’ll Be Working On

You’ll play a key role supporting and enhancing a secure Hyper Converged Infrastructure environment leveraging VMware and Dell technologies, while contributing to ongoing platform modernisation and operational resilience initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting and sustaining secure VMware-based HCI environments
• Managing and maintaining Dell EMC compute and storage infrastructure
• VMware Cloud Foundation and SDDC lifecycle management activities
• Infrastructure patching, upgrades and Evergreen activities
• Troubleshooting across virtual infrastructure, middleware and platform services
• Supporting Windows Server and RHEL environments
• Working with automation tools and scripting to streamline operational activities
• Contributing to technical documentation, operational procedures and knowledge sharing
• Assisting with complex incidents, root cause analysis and platform optimisation
• Collaborating with engineering and operational teams across secure programs

About You

We’re looking for someone who is genuinely technical, proactive and comfortable operating in complex secure environments.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Strong hands-on VMware infrastructure experience
• Experience supporting HCI platforms and enterprise infrastructure
• Knowledge of Dell EMC compute/storage technologies
• Strong troubleshooting and systems administration capability
• Exposure to secure, Defence or regulated ICT environments
• Experience with infrastructure lifecycle management and patching
• Ability to work collaboratively within technical project and support teams

Certifications such as VCP, VCAP, Microsoft or ITIL are highly regarded.
