Consumer & Product Insights Manager, Americas

Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Travel: Up to approximately 20%, predominantly across the Americas

About the Company

We are partnering with a well-established, multinational consumer products business with a significant presence across North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.

The company operates a global R&D and innovation organization responsible for developing, testing and improving products used by consumers around the world. Its teams work closely across R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing and Commercial functions to ensure products and innovation strategies reflect changing consumer needs and market trends.

Following continued investment in its US-based R&D capabilities, the business is looking to strengthen its Consumer & Product Insights team in Atlanta.

The Role

We are looking for a Consumer & Product Insights Manager who will play a key role in connecting consumer understanding, product and device insights, R&D and commercial strategy across the Americas.

The position has two primary areas of responsibility.

Firstly, you will act as an important technical and consumer insights partner for the Latin American business, working closely with regional commercial teams, customers and distributors to support product initiatives, portfolio decisions and market requirements.

Secondly, you will take ownership of developing a deeper understanding of the consumer and device landscape across North and Latin America, identifying how consumer behaviours, technology and device usage are changing and translating those insights into actionable recommendations for R&D and future product development.

This is not a traditional laboratory-based R&D position. It is a highly cross-functional role requiring someone who can combine consumer research, analytical thinking and technical understanding with strong commercial communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of product and innovation initiatives supporting Latin American markets.

  • Act as a bridge between R&D and regional Commercial, Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Product teams.

  • Develop a detailed understanding of how consumers across North and Latin America use different household and personal devices.

  • Identify changes in consumer behaviour, device ownership, usage patterns and emerging technology trends.

  • Conduct and interpret qualitative and quantitative consumer research, including surveys and structured research studies.

  • Combine consumer, market, product and device data to identify trends and implications for future product development.

  • Translate consumer and market insights into clear technical requirements, product specifications and R&D priorities.

  • Monitor competitor products, technology developments and broader market trends across the Americas.

  • Partner with internal technical specialists to interpret device testing, benchmarking and product-performance data.

  • Support the development of technical product stories, demonstrations and claims for commercial teams and customers.

  • Present technical and consumer insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Represent the technical organization in meetings with customers, distributors and regional commercial stakeholders.

  • Work independently across geographically dispersed and multicultural teams.

What We’re Looking For

  • Approximately 6+ years of relevant experience, with 8+ years advantageous.

  • Background in consumer insights, product insights, R&D, product development, product management or a related discipline.

  • Experience within consumer products, FMCG/CPG, consumer electronics or another consumer-focused technical environment.

  • Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative consumer research methodologies.

  • Proven ability to turn consumer, market or product data into actionable business or technical recommendations.

  • Strong analytical capability and confidence working with complex datasets and multiple sources of information.

  • Ability to understand technical products and communicate technical concepts to commercial audiences.

  • Experience working cross-functionally between technical and commercial teams.

  • Strong presentation skills and confidence communicating directly with customers and senior stakeholders.

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects with limited oversight.

  • Professional working proficiency in Spanish is essential.

  • Fluent English.

  • Willingness to travel across the Americas.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience supporting Latin American markets.

  • Engineering, Science or another relevant technical degree.

  • Experience researching consumer devices, technology trends or product usage.

  • Familiarity with product testing, competitive benchmarking or product-performance analysis.

  • Experience using data-analysis tools.

  • Confidence using AI tools to support research, analysis and insight generation.

  • Portuguese language skills.

The Person

This role will suit someone who combines technical credibility with strong commercial presence.

You should be naturally curious about consumers, products and emerging technology, but equally comfortable stepping away from the data and presenting your findings to a sales team, customer or distributor.

The successful individual will need to be confident, engaging and able to build credibility quickly with different audiences. Strong presentation skills and "stage presence" are important, particularly as you may represent the technical organization directly with Spanish-speaking customers and commercial teams across Latin America.

You should also be comfortable operating independently within an international organization and enjoy working across different cultures, functions and markets.

Why Consider the Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to join an established international consumer products business that continues to invest significantly in its US R&D and innovation capabilities.

The position provides unusually broad exposure across consumer insights, R&D, product strategy, commercial teams and international markets, rather than sitting within one narrow technical discipline.

For someone who performs well, there is also the opportunity to build significant visibility across the organization and develop into broader responsibilities over time.
