PROJECT MANAGER – SMALL TO MEDIUM COMMERCIAL & STRUCTURAL PROJECTS
South Auckland | Fast-Paced Construction Environment | Multiple Live Sites
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Project Manager to take ownership of a diverse range of structural, foundations, piling, retaining wall, and bespoke construction projects across South Auckland.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment, managing multiple live sites and driving outcomes from start to finish.
About the Role
This is not a traditional office-based Project Management position.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent projects (typically 5–7 at any one time) ranging from smaller works (~$5k) through to medium structural contracts ($1M–$3M range).
Projects include:
* Retaining walls and structural earthworks
* Piling and foundation systems
* Bespoke structural and engineered builds
* Design-driven construction solutions across South Auckland sites
The environment is dynamic, fast-moving, and operationally demanding, where priorities shift quickly and strong decision-making on the ground is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Full ownership of project delivery from initiation through to completion
* Managing multiple crews, subcontractors, and site teams across live sites
* Programme scheduling, coordination, and delivery oversight
* Cost control, budgeting support, materials ordering, and supply coordination
* Ensuring compliance with all H&S and construction regulations
* Rapid issue resolution and proactive site-based problem solving
* Strong communication with clients, site teams, and internal stakeholders
* Coordination of materials, plant, and equipment across multiple projects
About You
We are looking for a proven construction professional with strong building and structural delivery experience, who is confident operating in a high-pressure, multi-project environment.
You will bring:
* Solid background in construction, building, carpentry or structural project delivery
* Strong ability to read drawings and identify site issues early
* Experience driving practical, on-site solutions (not purely civil “lineal” PM work)
* Confidence managing multiple active projects simultaneously
* Strong leadership across trades, crews, and subcontractors
* Exposure/experience to retaining walls, piling, foundations, or structural works
* Excellent communication skills and professional maturity
* Calm, decisive, and solutions-focused under pressure
* Highly organised with strong prioritisation and time management skills
This role requires someone who is proactive, accountable, transparent and highly outcome-driven, not someone who waits for direction.
Key Attributes for Success
* Strong ownership mindset and accountability
* Ability to operate in a fast-paced, changing environment
* Practical construction thinking and site awareness
* High level of adaptability and initiative
* Strong leadership presence on site
* Commercial awareness and delivery focus
This is not a clock-watching role — it is for someone who thrives on responsibility, pace, and delivering results.
What’s on Offer
* Salary: $120,000 – $145,000 per annum (based on experience)
* Company vehicle: Hilux double cab ute + tools of trade
* Long-term pipeline of varied and challenging projects
* Strong team environment with high-energy delivery culture
* Autonomy, ownership, and real project influence across live sites
If you are a strong Project Manager with solid construction experience and want to work in a fast-moving, hands-on environment where you can truly own delivery, we would like to hear from you.
