Directors & Officers Underwriter

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Private Company Management Liability Underwriter with strong wholesale broker relationships to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting Directors and Officers (D&O) Liability, Employment Practices Liability (EPLI), and Misc Professional Liability (MPL) insurance for private companies. This role involves evaluating and analyzing risks, developing and maintaining strong relationships with wholesale brokers, and developing profitable business with our wholesale partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and underwrite D&O, EPLI, and MPL liability insurance for private companies, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and standards.
• Analyze financial statements, loss runs, and other relevant documents to assess risk and determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
• Develop and implement underwriting strategies to achieve profitability and growth targets.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Monitor market trends and developments to stay informed about industry changes and emerging risks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Management Liability underwriting, with a focus on private companies and wholesale distribution with established broker relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software.
• Professional designations such as CPCU, RPLU, or ARM are beneficial.
