Clinical Nurse Manager 2

Location: Dublin, Ireland
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Director of Nursing and is accountable to the Assistant Director of Nursing.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic and operational development, coordination, and management of nursing services in line with national standards, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based best practices.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred nursing care while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety.
• Promote and maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory frameworks, including Health & Safety, Risk Management, and quality assurance standards.
• Provide effective leadership in implementing and managing operational change initiatives within the nursing service.
• Work collaboratively with residents, families, carers, nursing staff, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and review individualized care plans.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Ensure that all nursing practices, procedures, and policies align with the organization's strategic objectives and operational plans.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Registration as a Psychiatric Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), or eligibility for registration.
• A minimum of five years' post-registration clinical experience, including at least two years' experience as a Clinical Nurse Manager 1.
• Proven experience in a healthcare or hospital environment, including acute mental health services.
• Experience in palliative care is desirable.
• Strong clinical, managerial, and administrative skills with the ability to lead nursing teams effectively.
• Demonstrated experience in staff management, budget oversight, and workforce planning.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Mental Health Commission standards, clinical governance, leadership, and healthcare governance frameworks.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary clinical teams and a thorough understanding of clinical governance principles.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, educate, and support nursing staff, including registered nurses and student nurses, while promoting professional development.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and other statutory requirements relevant to healthcare settings.
• Evidence of ongoing professional and personal development through continuous learning and education.
