In this contract role you will provide strategic advice across infrastructure planning and implementation, helping shape integrated land use and transport outcomes and supporting informed decision-making across major development initiatives.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and provide strategic oversight across complex infrastructure and strategic planning workstreams, ensuring high-quality outcomes and alignment with broader government priorities.
  • Provide expert advice on transport infrastructure, traffic modelling and infrastructure planning to support major greenfield development initiatives.
  • Lead the integration of land use planning, transport planning and infrastructure requirements to support coordinated development outcomes.
  • Assess and advise on complex infrastructure and transport matters, identifying risks, opportunities and practical solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic infrastructure planning initiatives across major growth and development areas.
  • Work closely with technical specialists, planners, engineers and project teams to ensure transport and infrastructure considerations are effectively incorporated into broader planning outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, technical consultants, developers and industry representatives.
  • Provide clear, strategic and evidence-based advice to senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Manage multiple complex workstreams with a high level of autonomy, organization and attention to detail.
  • Identify emerging issues and proactively develop solutions to support successful infrastructure planning and delivery.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and project requirements while maintaining strong governance and delivery outcomes.
  • Support strategic planning, implementation and policy initiatives within a complex government infrastructure environment.
  
Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced infrastructure or strategic planning professional with a strong understanding of greenfield development, transport infrastructure and land use planning.
  
You will bring:
  • Extensive experience in infrastructure planning and strategic planning, ideally within a government, development or major infrastructure environment.
  • Strong experience working within the greenfield development space, with an understanding of the relationship between land use, infrastructure and development outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience across traffic modelling, transport planning and/or transport infrastructure projects.
  • A strong understanding of land use planning and how strategic planning decisions influence infrastructure and transport requirements.
  • Proven strategic planning and leadership capability, with the ability to provide high-level advice and influence outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work across government, industry, consultants and technical teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex infrastructure and planning matters into clear strategic advice.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to identify issues, take ownership and develop solutions without requiring constant direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while effectively contributing to broader multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex workstreams.
  • The adaptability to operate effectively within a changing and complex infrastructure environment.
  • Previous experience working within local or state government, major development or large infrastructure environments will be highly regarded.
