Are you a commercially driven sales professional who thrives on building long-term partnerships, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and delivering measurable business growth?

We are seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to take ownership of a strategically important customer portfolio. This is a highly visible role where you will drive commercial performance, develop account strategies, identify new business opportunities, and act as the critical link between customers, operations, and internal teams across Australia and internationally.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in B2B technical sales, manufacturing, engineering, or another complex industrial environment who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

About the Role

As Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing account growth strategies, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering sustainable revenue and margin growth.

You will work closely with customers, customer service teams, operations, and international stakeholders to ensure exceptional service delivery while identifying opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and commercial improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Account Strategy & Commercial Leadership
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans aligned to customer and business objectives.
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across markets and segments.
  • Develop compelling value propositions that strengthen customer partnerships.
  • Drive initiatives that improve sales performance, profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure timely follow-up and execution of actions arising from customer meetings and visits.
  • Continuously improve customer engagement and Voice of Customer outcomes.
Business Performance & Growth
  • Manage account performance against annual sales budgets and targets.
  • Deliver monthly and annual objectives across volume, revenue, and margin.
  • Lead account forecasting and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities.
  • Prepare account reviews, highlighting opportunities, risks, and required internal actions.
  • Partner closely with Customer Service and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Monitor customer payments and support effective debt management.
  • Manage inventory performance and minimise ageing stock.
Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary communication link between customers and internal teams.
  • Keep key stakeholders informed of customer developments, opportunities, and risks.
  • Support customer-focused innovation initiatives and marketing activities.
  • Contribute to regular reporting on market trends, competitor activity, customer feedback, and business performance.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development.
  • Experience within manufacturing, packaging, engineering, industrial products, or another technical environment.
  • Proven success in driving commercial growth and improving account performance.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and assess customer requirements.
  • Experience managing complex customer relationships and multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability.
  • Experience with CRM systems 
  • Understanding of international business, supply chains, import/export processes, or global customer environments is highly regarded.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Management, International Business, or a related discipline.
