Senior Accountant

Perigon Group is partnering with a high-growth Australian business to recruit an Accountant / Senior Accountant to join a collaborative finance team supporting a business experiencing significant domestic and international expansion.

About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial operations while supporting a growing, fast-paced business.

This is intentionally a hands-on role. We're looking for someone who takes pride in producing accurate work, enjoys solving problems, and is motivated to improve how finance operates through better processes, systems and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and timely month-end reporting, including journals, reconciliations and accruals
• Supervise transactional finance processes across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, banking and payroll support, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and strong financial controls
• Support cash management activities, including banking, weekly payment runs and rolling cashflow forecasting
• Assist with management and statutory financial reporting across a multi-entity environment
• Coordinate tax and compliance obligations including BAS, IAS, payroll tax and other statutory reporting requirements
• Partner with the Financial Controller to maintain robust financial controls, accounting policies and governance
• Work closely with offshore team members, providing guidance, quality assurance and continuous support
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, automate repetitive tasks and leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance efficiency
• Build strong relationships across the business while developing broader commercial finance capability

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys getting the fundamentals right while always looking for a better way of doing things.

Ideally you'll bring:

• CA/CPA qualified or actively working towards completion
• Approximately 3-6 years' accounting experience within Audit, Business Services, Advisory or a commercial finance environment
• Strong technical accounting knowledge across financial reporting, reconciliations and compliance
• Excellent attention to detail with a disciplined, organised approach
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
• A genuine interest in process improvement, automation and AI
• A proactive mindset and desire to continue learning and developing
