The Lucas Group is excited to present a greenfield commercial opportunity to help rebuild the commercial model of a well-established Australian plant nutrition business.
As Senior Broadacre Commercial Agronomist, you will hold national responsibility for developing the market, working with corporate and large family growers to develop and commercialise season-long crop programmes. You will have significant autonomy, direct access to the CEO and the opportunity to shape a new commercial function.
Location: Remote. Victoria, New South Wales or Queensland preferred.
Travel: Extensive inter- and intra-state travel will be required for success.

As Senior Broadacre Commercial Agronomist, you will hold national responsibility for developing the market, working with corporate and large family growers to develop and commercialise season-long crop programmes. The Role
- Develop and manage national relationships with broadacre growers.
- Identify and convert new commercial opportunities.
- Develop season-long crop programmes combining seed treatment, nutrition and bioproducts.
- Establish trials and demonstrations and commercialise results.
- Work with distribution partners and directly own accounts.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 12 months, you'll:
- Convert new commercial accounts, delivering on revenue targets.
- Maintain gross margin targets across the territory.
- Secure crop programmes with targeted growers for the following season.
- Establish a functioning trial and demonstration programme.
- Build a reliable and accurate commercial forecast.
About You
You're an experienced commercial agronomist, agribusiness sales professional or technical sales specialist with strong broadacre knowledge and an ability to develop relationships and convert opportunities.
You'll also bring:
- Proven experience in agribusiness sales, business development or commercial agronomy.
- Credibility and influence with key growers/influential agronomists and extensive pre-existing networks.
- A flexible, commercial mindset that can turn agronomic solutions into measurable grower value.
- The independence and resilience to operate in a small, flat, entrepreneurial environment.
- A genuine appetite to build rather than inherit an established customer base.
Package & Benefits
- $180,000–$190,000 base salary
- Fully maintained Ford Ranger XL dual cab 4x4 (or equivalent)
- Business debit card, fuel card and tolls

- STIP (up to $70,000 per annum)
