About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, forward‑thinking Clinical Leader in Radiology to help shape the future of a large, progressive imaging service. This is a senior, multifaceted position combining hands‑on clinical practice with strategic and professional leadership.

Approximately 16 hours per week will be dedicated to Clinical Lead responsibilities, with the remaining hours worked as a Consultant Radiologist
In this role, you will:
  • Provide visionary clinical leadership across a comprehensive radiology service
  • Drive service development, workforce planning, and continuous quality improvement
  • Deliver expert diagnostic and/or interventional radiology services, including participation in on‑call rosters
  • Teach and supervise trainees in a RANZCR‑accredited training programme
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver seamless, patient‑centred care

About the Hospital
The Radiology Service operates across multiple hospital sites, including a tertiary referral centre and a busy secondary hospital, delivering a full range of diagnostic and interventional imaging services.

You will join a close‑knit, highly skilled team of Consultant Radiologists, Registrars, Medical Imaging Technologists, and Sonographers, with a strong emphasis on teaching, innovation, and professional development. Subspecialty interests are supported, and multidisciplinary meetings are central to service delivery.

The service is at the forefront of digital and imaging innovation, including the introduction of Photon Counting CT (PCCT) technology—among the first in New Zealand. This next‑generation imaging capability significantly enhances cardiac, neuro, vascular, and paediatric diagnostics and reflects the service’s commitment to excellence and innovation in patient care.

Eligibility
To be considered, you will:
  • Be vocationally registered (or eligible for registration) in Diagnostic and/or Interventional Radiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
  • Hold FRANZCR or an equivalent specialist qualification
  • Demonstrate senior‑level clinical experience with proven leadership capability
  • Bring subspecialty expertise (highly valued), such as MSK, interventional, paediatrics, or breast imaging
  • Be committed to delivering high‑quality, equitable healthcare outcomes
  • Show enthusiasm for innovation, collaboration, and service development
