GMHBA is seeking an accomplished executive to lead its Health and Branch Network and deliver the next phase of its health services strategy. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and working as a key member of the Executive Management Team, the Chief Operating Officer – Health and Branch Network will have strategic and operational responsibility for a diverse portfolio spanning private health insurance branches, general practice, dental, physiotherapy, eyecare and integrated health hubs.

Leading six direct reports and approximately 140 employees, this executive will provide clear direction across a complex, customer-facing network. The mandate is to improve commercial performance, strengthen clinical and operational governance, enhance customer and patient experiences, and build an engaged, accountable and high-performing workforce.

With full profit and loss accountability, you will lead GMHBA’s Health and Branch Network, driving sustainable growth, operational performance and exceptional member and patient experiences. You will optimise the operating model, advance the integration of health and insurance services, and maintain strong clinical governance, risk and compliance standards. As a member of the Executive Management Team, you will help shape GMHBA’s broader strategy and investment priorities while building an engaged, collaborative and high-performing leadership culture across the network.

You are a commercially astute and values-led executive with significant experience leading complex, multi-site operations. You combine strategic perspective with operational discipline and are equally comfortable shaping long-term direction, improving business performance and engaging frontline teams. You will bring:

• At least 10 years’ experience in senior leadership roles, ideally reporting to a CEO or divisional executive
• Experience leading a network of healthcare providers and/or retail financial services locations
• A demonstrated record of executing commercial turnaround, growth or performance-improvement strategies
• Strong commercial acumen and experience managing a substantial profit and loss portfolio
• A sound understanding of the primary care environment and policy context and/or financial services
• Experience leading frontline operations, customer service delivery and network expansion
• The ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders at Board, executive and operational levels
• A proven ability to build capable leadership teams and create an accountable, inclusive and high-performance culture
• A relevant tertiary qualification in health, commerce, business or management; an MBA will be highly regarded
