Aspect Personnel is working with a regional Victorian council that needs an experienced Development Engineer on a temporary basis. You'll join the Subdivision and Development Engineering team and report to the Lead Development Engineering. You'll join the Subdivision and Development Engineering team and report to the Lead Development Engineering. Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out engineering assessments of town planning, subdivision and building proposals
- Respond to development engineering referrals and enquiries within service levels
- Work with the team to manage daily priorities and workflow so departmental objectives are met
- Take part in meetings with internal stakeholders, developers, consultants and external authorities
- Advise and support the Manager, Team Leader and colleagues on development engineering issues
- Track performance against objectives and manage project risks and issues
- Deliver work on time, on budget and to the agreed standard
- Write technical reports and external correspondence
- A degree or diploma in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Experience in development or subdivision engineering, ideally in local government
- A sound understanding of the principles behind the relevant regulations, policies and engineering standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to choose the right approach from a range of options
- Excellent time management, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload
- Strong communication skills and the ability to gain the cooperation of clients, the public and colleagues
