Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Specialist to support a dynamic, high-volume logistics operation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing domestic and international shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, resolving complex receiving and shipping discrepancies, and collaborating across multiple departments to ensure operational excellence. This role requires strong SAP proficiency, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process and coordinate high-volume domestic and international inbound and outbound shipments while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and review all shipping and receiving documentation, including packing lists, bills of lading, manifests, certificates of origin, import/export documentation, letters of credit, declarations, and related records.
Utilize SAP and carrier systems to process transactions, maintain accurate inventory records, and support order fulfillment activities.
Investigate and resolve complex shipping and receiving issues, including shortages, damages, inventory discrepancies, delayed shipments, and documentation errors.
Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely movement of materials.
Partner closely with Customer Service, Project Management, Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to meet customer commitments and critical delivery schedules.
Manage return material authorizations (RMA) and returned goods processes while ensuring proper communication and documentation.
Maintain inventory integrity through accurate receiving practices, transaction processing, cycle count support, and inventory reconciliation activities.
Generate, analyze, and maintain shipping, receiving, inventory, and performance reports.
Prioritize and expedite critical shipments to support customer requirements and operational needs.
Identify process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and throughput within shipping and receiving operations.
Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, trade compliance, and company procedures.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain environments.
Demonstrated experience handling high-volume domestic and international shipments.
Strong SAP experience with inventory and shipping transactions.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve shipping, receiving, and inventory discrepancies.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Display good teamwork, flexibility, and initiative.
Interface with different departments, vendors, and customers in a professional manner.
Time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within manufacturing, distribution, aerospace, or industrial environments.
Knowledge of customs documentation, import/export regulations, and freight forwarding processes.
Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, and root cause analysis.
Lean, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma experience.
Forklift certification and warehouse equipment experience.
