Join a cutting-edge automotive technology leader as a Senior Software Engineer specializing in HMI and Unity development. In this pivotal role, you will craft immersive, real-time 3D vehicle visualizations and interactive simulations embedded within web environments, directly impacting next-generation automotive interfaces and driver experiences. Collaborate with a high-performing team to develop high-fidelity cockpit displays, instrument clusters, and AD/ADAS visualizations that bridge advanced self-driving tech with consumer engagement. Your work will involve integrating Unity applications with real-time vehicle data streams, building reusable frameworks, and participating in on-site vehicle testing to ensure seamless and validated HMI behaviors.
Required Skills:
- Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience, with a solid foundation in computer science principles
- At least 3 years of hands-on Unity and C# development in a production setting
- Proven expertise in consuming and integrating real-time data streams via WebSockets and related APIs
- Deep understanding of game engine architecture, rendering pipelines, scene management, and performance optimization
- Proficiency with modern software practices including Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and debugging in complex, multithreaded environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or an equivalent engineering discipline
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with C++ and additional languages such as Python, TypeScript, or protocols like REST API, Protobuf, CAN, LIN, Ethernet, DDS
- Background in automotive HMI, AD/ADAS systems, robotics, or driver-in-the-loop simulation
- Exposure to embedded or real-time operating systems, custom shaders, and GPU performance tuning
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated Unity development expertise
Other Requirements:
- Hybrid work environment based in Palo Alto, CA or Ann Arbor, MI (core hours starting at 9:00 AM) with 3 days/week on-site attendance; Palo Alto preferred
- Ability to participate in on-site vehicle and simulator testing in Palo Alto or Ann Arbor
- Must possess work authorization for the United States
