Director/Head, Investment Banking Malaysia

• Permanent headcount, based in Kuala Lumpur
• Malaysia coverage 
• ECM or M&A deals, such as IPOs, private placements, rights issues, private capital fundraising, take-privates

Responsibilities:

• Comprise 50% Malaysia Investment Banking coverage and 50% ECM / M&A
• Malaysian Investment Banking coverage role based in Kuala Lumpur for primarily Malaysian and Southeast Asia transactions, reporting to Head of IB
• ECM role for Southeast Asia transactions reporting to ECM Director
• Present findings of research and analysis, due diligence, financial modelling, valuation, assisting with administrative duties (e.g. roadshows, printing reports etc.), as well as preparing documentation relating to various internal and external processes
• Maintain credentials and databases
• Support the senior bankers and broader team as required
• Train and mentor analysts and interns

 
Profile of ideal candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Business/Finance-related discipline
• A head of advising on corporate finance – that meet the minimum requirements of at least 8 years direct experience in corporate finance and passed the relevant modules of the SC licensing exams (Module 12 and 19) or currently a CMSRL holder in advising on corporate finance regulated activity.
• Relevant Corporate Finance experience including financial modelling, valuation, preparation of pitch books, review of legal documents and due diligence.
• Prior Investment Banking experience, preferably having completed deals in SE Asia, is a plus
• Ensure data integrity and fact checks on all work undertaken.
• Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to devise creative solutions to problems.
• Fluent in both spoken and written Business Mandarin, for internal & external communications and engagement
• A diligent, responsible person who is eager to learn
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• High degree of integrity
• Self-motivated and able to operate independently, drawing from previous transaction experience to hit the ground running
• Ability to take the initiative
