Maintenance Assistant Montague, MI, 1st Shift, $17.78 per hour Job Summary Are you looking to start a hands-on career in maintenance and facility support? We’re seeking a motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Montague, MI. This entry-level position is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience while supporting general maintenance tasks and facility upkeep. Working under the direction of experienced maintenance staff, you’ll help ensure equipment, buildings, and work areas are clean, safe, and well maintained while following all OSHA/MIOSHA safety procedures, rules, regulations, and 5S workplace organization standards. What You’ll Be DoingAs a Maintenance Assistant, you will: Assist with general maintenance and facility upkeep tasks Support routine cleaning, organization, and upkeep of work areas Help inspect equipment and facilities for cleanliness and safety concerns Assist experienced maintenance staff with basic repairs and preventative maintenance tasks Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies in an organized manner Maintain 5S procedures and processes to support workplace organization and efficiency Ensure workspaces remain safe, clean, and compliant with company standards Follow OSHA/MIOSHA safety procedures and workplace regulations at all times Report maintenance concerns or safety issues to supervisors promptly Support special facility projects as needed What We’re Looking ForQualifications:High school diploma or GED preferred Maintenance experience preferred Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures carefully Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to lift, carry, bend, and stand for extended periods Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Skills:Positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to work well as part of a team Strong communication skills Problem-solving mindset Commitment to workplace safety Understanding of 5S principles is a plus Why Join UsThis is an excellent opportunity to build hands-on maintenance experience, learn from skilled professionals, and grow your career in a supportive team environment.
