Cloud & DevOps Engineer - NV1 Required

Contract Duration: 3 Months (with potential extension)

Location: Primarily Melbourne (Hybrid) / open to Canberra and Adelaide based candidates

About the Role

We are seeking a Cloud & DevOps Engineer for a 3-month contract (with potential extension).

• Melbourne Candidates: Hybrid model (3 days/week on-site).

• Other Locations: Remote work allowed, with occasional visits to a local office as required.

• On-Call: Roster-based rotation (approximately once every 4 to 5 weeks).

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, S3).

• DevOps & Automation: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and Packer to automate releases and infrastructure provisioning.

• Monitoring & Maintenance: Implement and maintain Elastic Stack (ELK) monitoring solutions to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.

• Containerization: Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift.

• Scripting & Linux Admin: Perform Linux (RHEL) server-side administration and write automation scripts using Bash or Python.

• Application Support: Work with PHP-based application environments.

• Security & Compliance: Enforce IAM, network security, data protection, and compliance best practices across cloud environments.

• Support & Documentation: Provide advanced troubleshooting for production issues and maintain detailed infrastructure documentation.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Clearance: Must hold an Active NV1 Clearance.

• Experience: Junior to Intermediate level (Minimum 5 years in Cloud & DevOps roles, with strong hands-on AWS experience).

• Tech Stack:

  • Cloud: AWS (EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, S3)

  • DevOps/IaC: Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Packer

  • Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift

  • OS & Scripting: Linux (RHEL), Bash, Python

  • Monitoring: Elastic Stack (ELK)

  • App Stack: Experience with PHP environments

• Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or a related field. AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
