Join a dynamic and large-scale distribution center as an Electro-Mechanical Engineering Consultant, supporting critical warehouse automation and systems integration projects in Memphis, TN. This role is pivotal for ensuring the seamless operation of conveyor systems, pick modules, and warehouse software, working directly with onsite engineering leads and third-party integrators to optimize high-volume, high-speed distribution operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Support mechanical and electrical modifications of conveyor infrastructure, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Oversee and coordinate automation projects, including conveyor upgrades, WMS migrations, and system validations.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams, including software and hardware vendors, to facilitate system handoffs and operational changes.
- Validate controls logic, support system acceptance testing, and document change management activities.
- Provide on-floor technical leadership, troubleshooting, and project oversight during high-volume distribution operations.
Required Skills:
- Strong electro-mechanical engineering experience with hands-on work in live production or distribution environments.
- Proven expertise with conveyor systems, particularly MDR (motor-driven roller) technology.
- Experience supporting upgrades or retrofits of legacy conveyor systems.
- Working knowledge of industrial networking, system communications, and WCS/WMS interactions (SAP WMS experience preferred).
- Ability to lead on-site engineering efforts, coordinate with technicians and third-party vendors, and manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Familiarity with validation, change control, and system acceptance processes.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with SAP Warehouse Management Systems.
- Knowledge of Honeywell or similar automation integrators.
- Experience with complex automation systems in distribution centers, manufacturing plants, or large facilities.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering fields.
- Hands-on engineering experience in high-throughput automated distribution or manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently in fast-paced, high-volume settings, with strong communication skills.
Other Requirements:
- This position is onsite in Memphis, TN, with occasional weekend work during major projects.
- Willingness to start before March and operate in a high-pressure, high-volume logistics environment.
- Comfortable working closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and operational staff to deliver complex automation projects smoothly.
