Project Manager – Medicines & Digital Health

12 Month Contract + Extension | NSW, ACT or QLD | Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with mandatory specialist knowledge of the Australian medicines domain to lead a significant national digital health initiative.

This is not a generalist Project Manager opportunity. Candidates must have demonstrated knowledge and practical experience with Australian Medicines Terminology (AMT) and strong knowledge of national medicines datasets, including the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) and National Product Catalogue (NPC).

The role will lead a national medicines terminology project supporting the enhancement of clinical terminology services and medicines data requirements. You will combine your medicines domain expertise with end-to-end project leadership across government, healthcare, technology vendors and industry stakeholders.


Key responsibilities:

• Lead the planning and delivery of a complex national medicines and digital health project
• Provide informed advice relating to AMT and national medicines datasets
• Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies and deliverables
• Coordinate delivery across government, clinical, industry and technology stakeholders
• Lead workshops, consultations and stakeholder engagement
• Develop governance documentation, executive briefings, reports and project artefacts
• Support outcomes relating to medicines interoperability, information sharing and clinical safety

To be considered, you must have:

• Demonstrated practical experience with Australian Medicines Terminology (AMT)
• Strong knowledge of the Australian medicines domain and national medicines datasets, including PBS, ARTG and NPC
• Experience delivering complex digital health projects
• Strong project governance, risk, vendor and stakeholder management capability
• Excellent written communication and executive reporting skills
• Relevant qualifications in pharmacy, health informatics, digital health, information management, project management or a related discipline

Experience with electronic prescribing, real-time prescription monitoring and the broader national digital medicines ecosystem will be highly regarded.

This is an initial 12-month engagement with a further 12-month extension option. The role can be based in NSW, ACT or QLD with hybrid working arrangements.

Due to the security requirements of this engagement, only Australian Citizens are eligible to apply. The successful candidate must be able to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
