General Surgeon - SW VA just north of Kingsport, TN | Signing Bonus

Seeking BE/BC General Surgeon to serve its patient population. The draw area serves a population of 75,000 to 100,000, which includes Southwestern Virginia and Southeastern Kentucky. There is a local 10-physician primary care network to supply patient referrals. This expansive service area of Southwest Virginia and Southeastern Kentucky holds huge potential.

Our goal is to find a general surgeon who shares the same philosophy as us in being able to accommodate our patients at home and not transfer them out of the area for their care. General bread & butter surgery experience and advanced laparoscopic skills are required. Minimally invasive skills a plus.

The hospital has expressed a large amount of flexibility to meet the needs of the new physician. Board-eligible, board certification must be completed within five years of completion of residency for all candidates.


The facility recently invested $12 million surgery project with four state-of-the-art operating rooms. A $16.5 million dollar renovation project that included the ER, cardio-pulmonary services, radiology equipment, diagnostic technology, EPIC EMR and a new Main and Emergency entrance was also recently completed.
