ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE

Our client is a large, well-established organisation operating within the not-for-profit and community services sector. With a strong focus on delivering essential services, they are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join their established finance team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for managing end-to-end accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely payments while working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
This is a hands-on transactional finance position suited to someone who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment, has strong attention to detail and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage end-to-end accounts payable processing, including invoice entry, creditor maintenance and payment processing
  • Process supplier payments via EFT and BPAY
  • Reconcile creditor statements and investigate outstanding discrepancies
  • Ensure invoices have appropriate purchase orders and approvals prior to payment
  • Maintain accurate supplier records and supporting financial documentation
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice and payment queries
  • Assist with internal and external audit requirements
  • Support the broader finance team with general accounting and administrative tasks
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements across accounts payable processes and systems
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable Officer or similar transactional finance position
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end accounts payable processes
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar financial systems, with Dynamics NAV experience highly regarded
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing financial transactions
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work efficiently within a busy finance team
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
  • Experience within a large or complex organisation will be advantageous
  • Previous exposure to the not-for-profit or healthcare sector would be beneficial but isn't essential
