Are you a driven Commercial Insurance professional with a passion for developing new business and building long-term client relationships?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Commercial Business Development Executive to join a well-established and highly respected brokerage. This role offers the chance to develop your own portfolio of commercial clients while working alongside an experienced team in a supportive and growth-focused environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for identifying and converting new business opportunities, building a strong sales pipeline, and developing a substantial portfolio of commercial clients over time. This is a relationship-led sales role where you'll leverage your network, generate new opportunities, and provide tailored insurance solutions to businesses across a range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and convert new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and prospecting activities.
- Build, manage, and maintain a strong sales pipeline and prospect database.
- Develop tailored client proposals and drive opportunities through to successful placement.
- Build and nurture long-term client relationships to maximise retention and account growth.
- Identify and develop cross-selling opportunities across General Insurance, Life, and Mortgage products.
- Collaborate with internal teams to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Lead and support sector-focused business development campaigns.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline reporting.
- Ensure all activities are completed in line with regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Represent the business professionally and build strong relationships across the insurance market.
About You
- CIP Qualified.
- Proven track record in commercial insurance sales and new business development.
- Strong knowledge of the Irish insurance market and commercial insurance products.
- Excellent communication, networking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and resilient, with a strong desire to succeed.
- Highly organised with excellent planning and pipeline management skills.
- Commercially astute with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver tailored solutions.
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
