Apply directA Life Insurance Japan is seeking a Data & AI professional to join the Data Business Partner Department and support the effective use of data and AI across key corporate functions, including Human Resources, Finance, Product, and IT.
This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and specialist teams such as Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Security, and Compliance. You will be responsible for understanding business needs, translating them into data and technical requirements, and driving initiatives from requirement definition through delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand their needs, identify business challenges, define requirements, and translate them into actionable data and technical requirements
- Drive data and AI initiatives from requirement definition through delivery in collaboration with business stakeholders, engineers, data specialists, and other relevant teams
- Conduct data investigations, analysis, and validation using platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, and SQL to assess whether data can meet business requirements
- Support the creation of datasets, analysis, dashboards, and reporting solutions using BI tools such as Amazon QuickSight
- Manage and monitor data quality to ensure the accuracy, reliability, consistency, and usability of data
- Support data governance activities, including data access requests, permissions, controls, and related internal processes
- Support AI Governance activities associated with the introduction and effective use of AI within the organization
- Provide internal governance and coordination support required to successfully deliver data and AI initiatives
- Work closely with Data Stewards and contribute to strengthening the Data Steward community to improve the frequency, quality, and effectiveness of data delivery
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Architects, Data Modelers, Security, Compliance, and other specialist teams to ensure data solutions are secure, governed, and aligned with business objectives
Required Skills:
- Approximately 3–4 years of professional experience in IT, Data, Business Analysis, or a related field
- Practical experience working with and analyzing data in cloud environments such as Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of SQL, data structures, data analysis, and data investigation
- Experience working in or understanding Agile methodologies and Agile project environments
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements that can be communicated effectively to engineers and data specialists
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to act as a bridge between business and technical teams
- Experience with data quality, data governance, data management, or related processes is highly desirable
- Experience creating datasets, analysis, reports, or dashboards using Amazon QuickSight or other BI tools is advantageous
- Strong documentation and data organization skills, with practical experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience using collaboration and project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of governance, data quality, security, and compliance considerations when delivering data solutions
