About the Role
Our client is a leading construction company operating across Ireland, the UK and Northern Europe, delivering complex projects across sectors including data centres, life sciences, aviation, high-value manufacturing and critical logistics.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced 4D Planning & Visualisation Specialist to join their BIM and Digital Construction team in Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity for a BIM, VDC, planning or digital construction professional with experience in 4D construction sequencing, BIM coordination and visualisation to play a key role in developing innovative tender submissions and digital construction methodologies.
The Role
Reporting to the BIM Manager, you will work closely with the BIM, planning, estimating, design and operational teams to develop high-quality 4D construction simulations and visual content.
You will take construction programmes, BIM models, drawings and logistics information and translate them into clear, engaging visual sequences that demonstrate how complex projects can be safely and efficiently delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality 4D construction simulations for tender submissions.
- Create visual construction sequences aligned with project programmes, logistics strategies and phasing plans.
- Work closely with planners, bid managers, estimators, design managers and operational teams to develop practical construction methodologies.
- Interpret Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and similar construction programmes and convert programme logic into visual timelines.
- Integrate BIM models, construction drawings, temporary works and logistics information into coordinated 4D animations.
- Support the development of construction methodologies, access strategies, crane studies, site logistics and commissioning sequences.
- Produce visual content for client presentations, tender interviews and technical submissions.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers and consultants to ensure model accuracy and consistency throughout bid development.
- Identify sequencing, logistics and buildability risks through digital construction reviews and assist in developing practical solutions.
- Maintain organised digital workflows, model version control and project documentation.
- Support the wider Bid Team by producing engaging visual material that clearly communicates proposed construction methodologies.
- Work with BIM and VDC teams to continually improve digital workflows, templates and visualisation standards.
- Keep up to date with developments in 4D planning, digital construction, visualisation and emerging technologies.
- Explore opportunities to utilise AI, automation and other digital tools to improve tender and construction workflows.
- Support knowledge sharing and mentoring within the Digital Construction team where appropriate.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A Level 7/8 qualification in BIM, Digital Construction, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years' relevant industry experience.
- Experience within a main contractor, construction or fit-out environment is highly advantageous.
- Practical experience producing 4D construction simulations and sequencing visualisations.
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
- Experience interpreting construction programmes and converting programme logic into accurate visual sequences.
- Knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent planning software.
- Understanding of BIM processes, model coordination and digital construction workflows.
- Experience integrating 3D models, drawings, logistics plans and construction methodologies.
- An understanding of construction logistics, temporary works, crane strategies, access planning and commissioning sequences.
- Experience with Common Data Environments such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, Viewpoint or Asite is desirable.
- Experience with visualisation, rendering, video editing or motion graphics software such as Twinmotion, Lumion, Unreal Engine or After Effects would be advantageous.
- Revit modelling experience is desirable.
- Strong Microsoft Office and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
