Gi Group Recruitment is partnering with a well-established and expanding Irish construction contractor to recruit a Project Quantity Surveyor for a major construction development in Co. Mayo.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to join a progressive commercial team and play a key role on a large-scale project. Working alongside an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Director, you'll receive ongoing support, mentoring, and genuine opportunities for career progression while taking ownership of the commercial management of the project from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of the project from commencement through to final account.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, cost plans, cash flow forecasts, and commercial reporting.
- Measure, value and certify subcontractor works, including the preparation of interim valuations.
- Procure subcontractors and suppliers through competitive tendering and commercial negotiation.
- Assess, negotiate and agree variations, change orders and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs, identify commercial risks and opportunities, and implement measures to maximise project value.
- Produce accurate monthly commercial reports, forecasts and cost updates for senior management.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Site Management, Clients, Design Teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and contractual documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the safe, timely and cost-effective delivery of projects while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying position within the construction industry.
- Previous experience working on residential, commercial, healthcare, education or industrial construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management and commercial administration.
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial management software.
- Previous experience delivering construction projects in Ireland.
