We are currently supporting a search for a Talent Management and Learning & Development (L&D) Lead within the pharmaceutical industry. This strategic HR role is responsible for driving organizational culture transformation, capability building, and employee engagement initiatives across the Japan market. About the Role

Operating as an HR leader within the pharmaceutical industry, you will champion the regional implementation of global talent, performance, and leadership initiatives while developing tailored programs specific to the local market. You will act as a strategic catalyst for cultural evolution, aligning internal people practices with the organization's long-term global vision. Key Responsibilities


Talent & Performance Management

  • Optimize and execute the global performance management cycle and talent assessment processes across the Japan organization.
  • Design and implement bespoke local talent development programs aligned with evolving business priorities.
  • Refine and modernize onboarding and induction frameworks for both new graduates and mid-career hires.


Learning & Leadership Development

  • Localize and deploy global leadership academy initiatives and advanced training frameworks for managers and executives.
  • Oversee and manage global digital learning platforms and educational tools tailored for the Japanese workforce.
  • Identify local training gaps and establish targeted learning opportunities that complement global curriculum offerings.


Employee Engagement & Employer Branding

  • Administer and analyze comprehensive employee engagement surveys to derive actionable insights for business leaders.
  • Partner with internal communications and culture teams to cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and respectful workplace.
  • Drive the employer value proposition (EVP) strategy and leverage prestigious external employer certifications to attract top-tier talent.


Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record of 5+ years of experience specializing in Talent Management and Learning & Development within a large-scale enterprise.
  • Industry Background: Experience within the pharmaceutical industry, life sciences, or related highly-regulated sectors is preferred.
  • Language: Native-level Japanese and Business-level English (written and spoken).
  • Core Soft Skills: Exceptional stakeholder management, cross-cultural communication, collaboration, and the ability to navigate complex organizational structures.
