An exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager ready to make their mark in the pet industry.

We’re recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join an award-winning, fast-growing pet food brand known for its quality, innovation, and strong values.

You’ll be managing a high-potential territory across Scotland and the North East, ideally based in Edinburgh or Glasgow, working with independent pet retailers to drive visibility, sales, and long-term partnerships.

What you’ll do
  • Manage and grow relationships with independent pet retailers across your region
  • Drive new business, opening new accounts and increasing distribution
  • Expand product range within existing customers, increasing SKUs and sales value
  • Deliver product training and education to retail partners
  • Own your territory plan, call cycles and CRM pipeline
  • Forecast sales and track performance against KPIs
  • Use data and insight to identify opportunities and drive commercial growth
  • Support merchandising, in-store visibility and brand activation
  • Provide market feedback, competitor insight and local trends
You’ll play a key role in helping retailers transition into a broader, multi-category offering including raw, wet, dry and treat products
What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience in a Business Development Manager, Territory Sales or Field Sales role
  • Background in FMCG, pet, animal health, food, drink or consumer goods preferred
  • Strong relationship builder with the ability to influence and sell effectively
  • Commercially aware, target-driven and comfortable working with data and KPIs
  • Self-motivated, organised and able to manage your own diary and territory
  • Resilient, proactive and focused on delivering results
  • A genuine interest in the pet industry
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility for regional travel
