Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the streamlining and automation of finance reporting workflows, replacing manual legacy processes.
- Revamp the existing Board report by reducing unnecessary pages, integrating narrative storytelling, and shifting from static data tables.
- Provide dedicated support for the upcoming budgeting cycle, ensuring accuracy and strategic insight.
- Engage in enterprise and product profitability projects, helping the organization catch up with best practices.
- Conduct tedious, detailed tasks related to month-end close and financial data analysis.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in modernizing and automating finance reporting and workflows.
- Strong proficiency with financial reporting tools and automation platforms.
- Hands-on experience with month-end closing processes.
- Ability to handle detailed, repetitive tasks with accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills to craft narrative storytelling within reports.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Background in financial institutions or banking.
- Familiarity with ProfitStar or similar profitability analysis tools.
- Prior experience in project management or process improvement initiatives.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or related roles within financial services.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to start fully on-site in San Jose, with a flexible transition to hybrid work over time.
- Willingness to engage in detailed, manual tasks as part of continuous process improvement.
- Experience working with senior leadership, including finance executives like VP of Finance and CFO, is advantageous.
- This role is critical in a project-based environment with potential for longer-term engagement.
