Skilled Analyst Programmer (Data Centre) required to support the analysis, development, automation and continuous improvement of Data Centre management systems and operational processes.
The role is primarily focused on Analyst Programmer functions, including systems analysis, software development, automation, data integration, reporting and optimisation of Data Centre platforms. The resource will also provide limited coordination of Data Centre infrastructure activities to ensure accurate asset management, capacity planning and compliance with operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse business and operational requirements relating to Data Centre infrastructure, asset management and operational processes.
Gather, document and translate business requirements into technical specifications and system solutions.
Design, develop, test and maintain software applications, scripts and automation solutions supporting Data Centre operations.
Administer, configure and enhance DCIM and related infrastructure management platforms.
Design and maintain integrations between DCIM, monitoring, asset management, service management and other enterprise systems.
Develop and maintain APIs, data interfaces and automated workflows.
Create reports, dashboards and data visualisations to support operational management and capacity planning.
Analyse infrastructure, environmental, power, cooling and utilisation data to identify trends and optimisation opportunities.
Design and maintain databases, data structures and information repositories supporting Data Centre operations.
Perform application testing, troubleshooting, debugging and root-cause analysis.
Develop technical documentation, functional specifications, support procedures and system design documentation.
Recommend and implement system enhancements that improve operational efficiency, compliance and reporting.
Support change management, software releases and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with infrastructure, security and operational teams to deliver technology solutions aligned to business objectives.
Data Centre Operations
Maintain accurate infrastructure, asset and capacity records within DCIM.
Support planning and coordination of equipment installations, relocations and decommissioning activities.
Assist with capacity management across rack space, power and cooling resources.
Ensure physical infrastructure, cabling and asset information remain accurately documented.
Coordinate vendor access and ensure compliance with Data Centre security and operational standards.
Support PCI DSS, audit, security and compliance activities.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience as an Analyst Programmer, Systems Analyst, Application Developer, Software Engineer or similar technical role.
Strong experience in software development, systems analysis and business requirements gathering.
Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Java, C# or JavaScript.
Experience with API development, systems integration and enterprise application support.
Strong SQL, database design and data modelling knowledge.
Experience developing reporting, analytics and dashboard solutions.
Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing and change management practices.
Strong technical documentation, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
Knowledge of Data Centre operations, DCIM platforms and infrastructure management practices.
Understanding of Data Centre capacity planning, power, cooling and environmental monitoring principles.
