The Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Package Engineer to take ownership of multiple equipment packages across two significant mining projects. Working within a multidisciplinary project team, you will be responsible for managing packages from concept through to delivery, coordinating technical, commercial, and stakeholder requirements while ensuring project objectives are met.

The role is Perth office based with occasional site travel as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage mechanical equipment packages throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Develop and review engineering designs, specifications, scopes of work, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate package procurement activities, including vendor engagement, tender evaluations, and technical bid assessments.
  • Manage supplier, contractor, and fabricator interfaces to ensure quality, cost, and schedule requirements are achieved.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure smooth package integration.
  • Support brownfield modifications, refurbishment projects, and plant improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement with clients, site personnel, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare and review engineering reports, technical submissions, and project deliverables.
  • Support project execution through site inspections, commissioning activities, and technical troubleshooting where required.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Australian standards, client requirements, and project governance processes.
About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Approximately 5-8 years' experience, ideally towards the senior end of this range.
  • Demonstrated experience managing mechanical equipment packages from concept through execution.
  • Background in mining, materials handling, NPI, minerals processing, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Experience working on brownfield projects, plant upgrades, or asset refurbishment programs.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and contractor coordination.
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary interfaces and stakeholder relationships.
  • Exposure to government authority approval processes would be highly regarded.
  • Strong technical writing and engineering documentation skills.
  • Practical site-based experience supporting project delivery.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
