Test Analyst

Emanate Technology is working with a small federal government organisation seeking an experienced Senior Test Analyst to join a delivery team supporting the department's ongoing modernisation program.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong background in both manual and automated testing who enjoys working across the full testing lifecycle. You'll play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability and accessibility of digital services through functional, API, automation and accessibility testing.
About the Role

• Develop, execute and maintain test plans, test cases and test scripts
• Perform functional, integration, system and production verification testing
• Design, build and maintain automated test suites and frameworks
• Conduct API testing and validation using Postman and similar tools
• Support release activities, defect triage and test reporting
• Identify, document and manage defects through to resolution
• Work closely with developers, business analysts and stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes
• Contribute to test strategies, test planning and continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform accessibility testing and provide recommendations against WCAG standards
• Support quality assurance activities across multiple projects and environments

About You

• Demonstrated experience as a Senior Test Analyst, Test Engineer or Software Tester
• Strong experience across both manual and automated testing
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
• TestComplete
• Karate
• Cypress
• Cucumber
• SpecFlow
• Experience performing API testing using Postman or similar tools
• Experience using Azure DevOps, Zephyr or similar test management tools
• Strong understanding of software testing practices and methodologies
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Highly Regarded

• Experience with accessibility testing and WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 compliance
• Experience using SiteImprove, aXe or similar accessibility testing tools
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps environments
• Experience with Azure DevOps and Atlassian Bamboo
• Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS/SCSS
• Previous experience working within Federal Government or large enterprise environments

Security Requirements

• Current Baseline Security Clearance is mandatory
• Must be Canberra based
