Reporting to the organization's senior operational leader, the Director of Finance will oversee all core finance and accounting activities while providing strategic financial guidance to business leaders. This role combines hands-on financial oversight with leadership responsibilities, ensuring accurate reporting, operational efficiency, and continuous process improvement.
What You'll Do
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Analyze financial results, identify key trends, and provide strategic recommendations to support business decisions
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and cost management initiatives
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, chart of accounts, fixed asset records, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Provide leadership for the accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, and credit functions
- Monitor manufacturing costs, overhead, and operating expenses while identifying opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency
- Champion financial process improvements, reporting standardization, and ERP implementation or system enhancement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements
- Oversee inventory accounting, including physical inventory counts and reconciliations
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to support strategic initiatives and continuous business improvement
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- CPA or another professional accounting designation is considered an asset
- Progressive leadership experience in finance and accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and internal controls
- Experience leading full-cycle accounting operations and financial close processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP or enterprise accounting systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Bilingual communication skills are considered an asset
