Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the accounting and reporting functions across multiple business entities. The successful candidate will oversee month-end close activities, account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and financial reporting while contributing to process improvements and systems optimization projects.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and support month-end and year-end close activities across multiple entities
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting schedules
- Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and related accounting activities
- Support financial statement preparation and assist with external audit and year-end requirements
- Prepare indirect tax filings and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements
- Monitor and maintain accounting records related to capital assets, leases, and equipment costs
- Support project and cost accounting activities, including budget-to-actual analysis and variance investigations
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost tracking
- Assist with process improvements, internal controls, and finance transformation initiatives
- Become a key resource for financial systems and support ongoing ERP optimization projects
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- CPA designation in progress is preferred; designation not required
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years of Canadian accounting experience
- Strong experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations
- Experience within construction, contracting, manufacturing, or project-based environments is highly preferred
- Exposure to project accounting, cost accounting, and multi-entity accounting structures
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
- Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and contribute to process improvements
