Head of Finance

An established and growing real estate investment and funds management business is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Finance to provide leadership and continuity during a period of maternity leave.

Reporting to the Group CFO, you will lead the existing Real Estate Finance team and act as a key finance partner to the Head of Real Estate and senior leadership team. The role will oversee financial reporting, planning, governance, fund accounting and commercial decision support across the Real Estate platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Real Estate Finance team, ensuring continuity, clear priorities and high-quality delivery.
• Partner with the Group CFO, Head of Real Estate and senior stakeholders on financial and commercial matters.
• Oversee fund accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Review fund forecasts, unit pricing, distributions, valuations and financial controls.
• Oversee statutory reporting, tax requirements and external audit processes.
• Maintain strong financial governance, internal controls and risk management.
• Provide financial insight and analysis to support portfolio strategy, capital deployment and business decisions.
• Oversee existing debt facilities, including covenant monitoring and compliance reporting.
• Prepare and review financial information for Boards, investment committees and senior management.
• Lead corporate budgeting and forecasting, including P&L, profitability, headcount and operating expenditure.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting and systems while maintaining business continuity.
• Work closely with external advisers across audit, tax, legal and compliance.
• Ensure a structured handover at the commencement and conclusion of the assignment.

About You

You will be an experienced senior finance professional with a background in real estate funds management, property investment or financial services.

You will ideally have:

• Strong knowledge of fund accounting and real estate financial reporting.
• Experience across budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, tax and financial governance.
• Experience with unit pricing, distributions, debt covenant reporting and Board/investment committee reporting.
• Proven ability to quickly take ownership of an established finance function and lead a team with minimal disruption.
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to operate effectively with senior executives, Boards and external advisers.
• A hands-on, pragmatic and delivery-focused approach.
• Excellent stakeholder and team leadership skills.
• CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
