Associate - Finance

This Real Estate Investment Manager with Private Equity backing is recruiting for a commercially minded Finance Associate to join their team and work closely with portfolio companies, investment teams and management.

This is a high-impact role supporting businesses throughout the investment lifecycle — from transaction execution and post-acquisition integration through to performance improvement and value realisation.

The Opportunity

You will work closely with the deal teams and portfolio company management teams to strengthen financial performance, improve decision-making and deliver value-creation initiatives.
The role will provide exposure across a broad range of financial and operational priorities, including transaction support, financial planning, performance management, cash flow optimisation and governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Support portfolio companies throughout the investment lifecycle, partnering with deal teams and portfolio management on financial planning, performance tracking and value-creation initiatives.
• Support transaction-related workstreams, including financial due diligence, integration planning and post-deal financial stabilisation.
• Lead and enhance budgeting, forecasting and KPI frameworks, providing management teams and investment professionals with clear visibility over business performance.
• Partner with management teams on cash flow management, capital allocation, working capital and cost optimisation.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial performance, reporting and operational discipline across portfolio companies.
• Coordinate with external advisors, including auditors, tax and accounting specialists and consultants, to ensure robust financial processes, controls and governance.
• Support portfolio company leadership teams in developing scalable finance functions, reporting infrastructure and decision-support capabilities.
• Provide analysis and insights to investment and portfolio management teams to support informed decision-making throughout the investment lifecycle.

We are looking for a commercially focused finance professional who combines strong technical capability with an ability to work collaboratively with management teams and investment professionals.
You will ideally have:

• Experience in private equity, transaction advisory, financial due diligence, corporate finance, FP&A, portfolio operations or a similar environment.
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and analytical capabilities.
• Experience working with senior management and/or investment teams.
• A strong understanding of cash flow, working capital, financial controls and business performance.
• The ability to translate financial analysis into practical commercial recommendations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A hands-on, pragmatic approach and the ability to operate effectively across multiple portfolio companies and workstreams.
