Based in New York City, with affiliated offices in Cape Town, Nairobi and New Delhi, Micato Safaris operates award-winning, luxury journeys throughout East Africa, Southern Africa and India.
Reports to: Director of Marketing
Primary Responsibilities
Email Campaign Strategy & Calendar Management:
• Own the strategic email marketing calendar across multiple audience segments (past guests, new inquiries, travel advisors, pipeline prospects)
• Develop segment-specific messaging strategies that resonate with high-net-worth luxury travelers at different stages of their journey
• Design and manage weekly/monthly campaigns
• Build comprehensive testing frameworks to continuously optimize subject lines, content, timing, calls-to-action, and creative
• Collaborate with writers, designers, and technical implementers to execute campaigns
• Manage email deliverability, list hygiene, and compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other relevant regulations
• Optimize performance continuously through A/B testing, segment refinement, and data-driven iteration
Marketing Automation & Nurture Programs:
• Design and build sophisticated automated nurture journeys for multiple customer lifecycle stages (inquiry, consideration, decision, post-booking, retention)
• Create behavioral trigger campaigns that respond to prospect actions and engagement patterns
• Implement advanced HubSpot workflows with segmentation logic, and personalization at scale
• Develop lifecycle marketing strategies that move prospects through Micato's 12-18 month sales cycle
• Build re-engagement and win-back campaigns for inactive prospects and past guests
• Optimize nurture performance based on conversion data and engagement metrics
Analytics, Attribution & Strategic Insights:
• Build custom dashboards in GA4 that tell the story of email marketing performance and pipeline contribution
• Track attribution from first touch through booking to understand which campaigns and touchpoints drive conversions
• Extract actionable insights from complex data and translate them into clear strategic recommendations
• Monitor and report on email KPIs including engagement rates, conversion rates, pipeline velocity, and revenue contribution
• Provide data-driven recommendations to leadership on what's working, what's not, and what to do next
• Conduct competitive analysis and industry benchmarking to identify opportunities and best practices
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Partner closely with Safari Specialists (sales team) to understand lead quality needs and optimize handoff processes
• Provide strategic insights to agency-managed paid media campaigns based on audience performance data
• Collaborate on website optimization initiatives with conversion-focused recommendations
• Work with content team to develop email-optimized messaging that aligns with brand voice
• Contribute to annual marketing planning and demand generation strategy
Systems & Process Development:
• Build scalable processes that can grow with the business without proportional resource increases
• Document email marketing playbooks including segment strategies, campaign types, and best practices
• Implement HubSpot optimizations to improve workflow efficiency and data quality
• Research and recommend AI-powered tools for content personalization, testing, and optimization
• Stay current with email marketing trends in luxury travel, hospitality, and high-consideration B2C marketing
Required Qualifications
Must-Haves:
• 7- 10 years of email marketing experience with demonstrated expertise in both campaign management and marketing automation
• Expert-level HubSpot proficiency — you've built complex workflows, automated nurture journeys, advanced segmentation, and lead scoring
• Advanced Google Analytics 4 (GA4) expertise including custom reporting, conversion tracking, attribution modeling, and dashboard creation
• Strategic thinking— diagnose systemic issues and design comprehensive solutions
• Experience with long, complex sales cycles (6+ months) in high-consideration or luxury B2C marketing
• Data storytelling skills — you translate complex analytics into insights and recommendations that resonate with non-technical stakeholders
• Strong project management and prioritization abilities — you manage multiple campaigns, automation builds, and strategic initiatives simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills — you collaborate effectively across functions and present confidently to leadership
• Experience building marketing programs during periods of company growth — you understand how to create systems that scale
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
Strong Preferences:
• Experience in luxury travel, hospitality, or high-value B2C marketing
• Understanding of travel advisor/partnership marketing models
• Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools
• HubSpot certifications (Marketing Automation, Inbound Marketing, Email Marketing)
• Google Analytics 4 certification
• Experience with marketing attribution and multi-touch attribution modeling
• Knowledge of CRM systems and sales enablement processes
• Familiarity with AI-powered marketing tools for content creation, personalization, and optimization
• Experience with conversion rate optimization and landing page testing
• Understanding of email deliverability best practices and sender reputation management
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shift
