Role Overview

• Package: £90,000 per year

What You’ll Be Doing

• Developing and maintaining backend systems using serious programming languages like Java, C#, or Go
• Designing and managing APIs that support core business functions
• Integrating with multiple third-party services and troubleshooting complex issues
• Debugging from logs and symptoms, addressing partial failures, retries, and reconciliation challenges
• Owning and improving production systems, ensuring stability and performance

Main Skills Needed

• Strong backend experience with enterprise-level languages (C#, Go, Java, etc.)
• Proven track record of designing, maintaining, and debugging APIs and production systems
• Experience handling integrations, retries, and partial failures in cloud or self-managed environments
• Ability to read and modify modern frontend code with confidence, using tools like StackOverflow or ChatGPT
• Calm, pragmatic approach with evidence of longevity and stability in previous roles
