Monroe Consulting Group, an Executive Recruitment firm, is partnering with a leading organisation in the Industrial sector to hire a Senior Technical Manager. This opportunity is based in Malaysia.
Position Overview
The Senior Technical Manager will oversee the technical, financial and operational delivery of maintenance and project activities, ensuring works are completed to specification, on schedule and within budget. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding the organisation's operational integrity, regulatory compliance and long-term asset reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- To strictly follow and adhere to all Company policies and approved procedures on business ethics, SSHE and others.
- Manage the financial aspect of all maintenance works and projects following the approved budget.
- Responsible for the maintenance and project from inception to completion of jobs, meeting the technical requirement, schedule and budget.
- Liaise with Contractors and Consultants on various maintenance works and projects.
- Assist with requirements in relation to site preparation and associated consultations.
- To assist in procurement of spare parts, consumables and equipment and ensure that the procurement procedure is followed, meeting the technical specification and budget.
- To participate in technical discussions internally as well as with customers, suppliers, contractors and authorities, during the tender review, technical clarifications and site meetings.
- To develop and execute a preventive maintenance plan on critical equipment and monitor the implementation.
- To attend to maintenance problems arising from daily operational activities.
- To plan, monitor, execute and maintain calibration records and certificates of fitness of critical equipment.
- To strictly comply with the Company's HSSE regulations when carrying out maintenance activities. In the absence of the Company's as well as government regulations on maintenance activities to be carried out, best practice rules apply.
- To play an active role in the Emergency Response Team, ISO9001:2008 and Safety Committee.
- Any other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the General Manager and immediate superior.
Key Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or professional qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or a related discipline), or equivalent industry experience.
- Proven experience in a technical/maintenance management role within an industrial, terminal or process operations environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing maintenance and project works from inception through to completion, including budget and schedule accountability.
Technical / Functional Expertise
- Strong working knowledge of maintenance planning, project management and financial/budget control for maintenance and project works.
- Experience in procurement processes for spare parts, consumables and equipment, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and budgetary requirements.
- Proficiency in developing and executing preventive maintenance plans for critical equipment, including monitoring of implementation.
- Experience in calibration planning, execution, record-keeping and maintaining certificates of fitness for critical equipment.
- Sound knowledge of SSHE/HSSE regulations, company policies and best practice standards applicable to maintenance activities.
- Familiarity with ISO9001:2008 quality management systems.
- Experience participating in tender reviews, technical clarifications and site meetings with customers, suppliers, contractors and authorities.
