Engineering Manager (Telecommunications & Electrical Infrastructure)

About the Role:
Join a leading Australian communications technology integrator as their experienced Engineering Manager to lead their engineering function across the design, planning, and technical delivery of telecommunications, electrical & industrial infrastructure projects.
This is a senior technical leadership role, owning engineering governance, quality, and people management to ensure every solution delivered is safe, compliant, commercially sound, and built to the highest standard.
You'll work closely with Project Delivery, SHEQ, Bids & Tenders, and Operations to ensure engineering supports successful project execution from tender through to commissioning, while driving continuous improvement and technical excellence across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team
• Establish engineering standards, processes, and best practice across the business
• Provide engineering leadership through tendering, execution, and project close-out
• Act as technical authority for engineering decisions, risk, and design compliance
• Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and documentation
• Coordinate engineering activity across communications, electrical, and associated infrastructure
• Manage engineering budgets, resourcing, and productivity across concurrent projects
• Build and maintain strong client, supplier, and subcontractor relationships
• Support estimating, tender preparation, and value engineering initiatives
• Champion a strong safety-in-design culture across all engineering output

About You:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering
• MIEAust (or eligibility) with Engineers Australia; CPEng highly regarded
• 10+ years' engineering experience in Telecommunications, Mining, Oil & Gas, or heavy industry
• 5+ years in an Engineering Management or senior technical leadership role, building high-performing multidisciplinary teams
• Exposure to EPC / EPCM contracting environments
• Project management experience
• Strong understanding of communications and electrical infrastructure systems
• Experience delivering brownfield and greenfield industrial projects
• Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and relevant legislation
• Excellent stakeholder management, commercial acumen, and communication skills
• Current C-Class driver's licence
