Mayday Healthcare is partnering exclusively with a well-established private day hospital in Adelaide to recruit an experienced Clinical Nurse – Ophthalmology & Oral Surgery.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Ophthalmology Scrub/Scout Registered Nurse who is either already working in a Clinical Nurse role or is ready to step into their first leadership position.

Unlike larger hospitals where leadership can become predominantly office-based, this role allows you to remain heavily involved in the clinical environment while leading from the floor.
You'll work closely alongside your team, mentoring junior staff, supporting surgeons, maintaining clinical standards and driving quality improvements, while also having dedicated non-clinical time for administration, education and operational responsibilities.
Working within a smaller hospital also means you'll gain exposure to a much broader range of leadership responsibilities and play an integral role in the day-to-day running and ongoing growth of the service.

The Role

• Permanent Part-Time (0.6–0.8 FTE) 
• $51–$58 per hour + Super (dependent on Clinical Nurse experience)
• No on-call requirements
• Lead from the floor while remaining hands-on in theatre
• Dedicated administrative time built into your roster
• Mentor and support junior Scrub/Scout nurses
• Work directly with Ophthalmologists and Oral Surgeons
• Contribute to quality improvement, staff education, competencies, policy development and theatre operations
• Full handover provided by the outgoing Clinical Nurse

About You
To be successful, you'll have:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum 3 years' clinical perioperative experience
• Strong Ophthalmology Scrub/Scout experience (essential)
• Oral Surgery experience highly regarded
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A collaborative, hands-on leadership style
• A passion for mentoring and developing junior staff

Previous Clinical Nurse experience is highly regarded; however, experienced Ophthalmology Scrub/Scout nurses with leadership potential and a genuine desire to progress are encouraged to apply.
