Nurse Unit Manager – Oncology | Wollongong | Permanent Full-Time

MAYDAY Healthcare is partnering exclusively with a leading, well-established healthcare organisation to find an exceptional Nurse Unit Manager for their Cancer Care Centre in Wollongong.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role at a highly regarded clinic, bringing your clinical expertise and people leadership together to drive outstanding oncology care.

The Role

As NUM, you'll lead a skilled and close-knit nursing team delivering high-quality cancer care. You'll set the standard clinically, champion a collaborative culture, and be the driving force behind continuous improvement across the unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor and inspire the nursing team across daily operations
  • Maintain excellence in chemotherapy and oncology care delivery
  • Uphold best-practice oncology and evidence-based nursing standards
  • Drive performance, development reviews, and team engagement
  • Collaborate closely with medical and allied health teams
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives

About You:

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 3 years' clinical experience in medical/chemotherapy oncology nursing  
  • Proven leadership or management experience
  • A strong communicator who can inspire confidence and accountability
  • Commercially and clinically astute, with sound knowledge of relevant healthcare legislation
