About the Humanities Teacher Position

This position will commence in Term 1, 2027, with the college seeking a Humanities Teacher to join its secondary teaching team. The specific teaching load will be discussed and developed around the successful candidate's strengths, experience and teaching methods, providing flexibility across Humanities subject areas. An ongoing appointment is available, although a fixed-term contract can also be considered for candidates who prefer this arrangement.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Humanities lessons that support students across a range of abilities

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment with a strong focus on student wellbeing

  • Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues regarding learning and progress

  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment and broader school initiatives

  • Contribute expertise across relevant Humanities areas, with the final teaching load determined according to candidate strengths

  • VIT registration or eligibility to obtain

  • At least two references from recent employers and completion of HARKE's safeguarding onboarding

  • Full Australian working rights
