Job Title: Junior Civil Drafter – Exciting Opportunity in Rail Infrastructure

Perth Based | Contract Opportunity | Rail & Civil Infrastructure Projects
An engineering consultancy delivering major transport and infrastructure projects is seeking a Drafter to join its growing Rail Infrastructure team.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a recent graduate or early-career drafter looking to develop their skills within a collaborative design environment. You will work alongside experienced engineers and designers, supporting the delivery of rail and civil infrastructure projects from concept design through to construction.
The role As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide drafting and design support across a range of rail and infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities

• Prepare 2D and 3D drawings for rail, civil and infrastructure projects.
• Develop alignment plans, track layouts, longitudinal sections and cross-sections.
• Produce construction-ready drawing packages in accordance with project standards.
• Maintain drawing registers and support document control processes.
• Work closely with engineers and designers to convert design concepts into accurate and constructible drawings.
• Incorporate design revisions throughout project delivery.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant industry standards and project specifications.
• Support coordination activities across civil, structural and rail disciplines.

About you

• Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering Drafting, Design Drafting or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality documentation.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet project deadlines.

Highly regarded

• Previous experience in rail, transport or civil infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of rail corridor design, track layouts and associated infrastructure.
• Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering project environments.
• Experience producing construction drawing packages.
• Familiarity with industry drafting and design standards.
